Behavior, Photographers & Professionalism

I read quite a few blogs and websites on photography from professional photographer at least that's what they call themselves.  They say one thing and they do the exact opposite of what they preach.  It's hypocrisy at its finest.
One complaint of theirs is about amateurs.  I'm like... were these "professionals" once amateurs themselves?  Seriously no one who just had a camera put into their hands for the first time is a professional just like no person just starting out at anything is a "professional.  It takes time and training to get to that level.
These people say we should give constructive criticism, be nice and never talk bad about another photographer especially if they're a professional.  Yet it seems as if every  criticism is just bashing others to make them look smarter, better, more technical, boast their own self-esteem or whatever.
They complain when other (amateur or professional) are ruining their business.  Seriously?!  I guess they don't want to look at themselves to see maybe the problem with their business is themselves.  If a person doesn't understand how to run or market their business, the business will do poorly and most likely fail.
The biggest complaint/grip I see and hear is... just because a person has a camera in their hand and taking pictures doesn't make them a photographer.  Sorry to bust some bubbles and bruise some egos but by definition of the term "photographer" means someone with a camera taking pictures.  It's what happens in taking a photo is what makes a good/great photo based on their knowledge of photography and how they applied it in achieve the photo they wanted.
Seriously, these people who call themselves "professionals" based off going to a certain school to get training need to start behaving as a professional and not a know it all.
